Combined Biological Method for Simultaneous Removal of Hydrogen Sulphide and Volatile Methylsiloxanes from Biogas

Hydrogen sulphide (H2S) and volatile methylsiloxanes (VMSs) are key pollutants from the point of view operators biogas plants. H2S poses corrosive hazards, while VMSs transform into difficult-to-remove deposits, reducing availability yield combustion equipment. This study provides a critical overview evaluation (so-called SWOT analysis) implemented promising methods to reduce content above in biogas, with particular emphasis on biological techniques. The aim analyses was develop an innovative concept for hybrid method combined removal using same device, i.e., two-phase biotrickling filter (BTF), which organic phase that intensifies mass transfer is form low-viscosity methyl silicone oil. finally developed technological schematic diagram includes basic devices media streams. characterized by closed circuits comprehensively solves problem purifying sewage sludge. In conclusion, issues requiring further research identified.
